History & Staff

We have years of experience caring for families, from all walks of life. Each family comes to us because they know we are leaders in our profession, dedicated to excellence in service, and have the highest integrity.

Our History

Sutton Funeral Home was established in 1929 by Mr. James Lacy Sutton, Sr. (January 2, 1896 - May 21, 1976) in Pageland, South Carolina. It was his vision to serve the Pageland / Jefferson area and surrounding communities with care and compassion with affordable pricing in funeral service. That commitment has continued though his sons James (Jimmy) Lacy Sutton, Jr. and Ogden C. Sutton.

On May 5, 2008, Bill and his wife Amy Baumgartner purchased the funeral home and cemetery from Mr. and Mrs. Sutton. In April of 2009, Bill and Amy decided to add their name to the business to make it more personal, calling it Sutton-Baumgartner Funeral Home.

On January 23, 2013, Bill and Amy Baumgartner decided to change the name to Baumgartner Funeral Home.

The mission of Greenlawn Memorial Park of Pageland, Inc and Baumgartner Funeral Home is to give families the most caring, complete, and professional services in their time of loss. The entire staff of Baumgartner Funeral Home is committed to providing this level of service to all families that we are privileged to serve.

The grief that families have to cope with after the death of a loved one can sometimes seem unbearable and our staff is committed to meeting the needs of your family well after the day of the funeral through our Aftercare program. We desire to provide personal services to the surviving spouse, families and friends which will comfort and assist them after their loss.

We feel privileged to be a part of your community and to have the honor to serve you.
