Mr. James Carroll Hicks, 85, of Pageland, SC passed away on Friday, January 20, 2012. A Funeral Service will be held at 2:30 PM on Sunday, January 22, 2012 at Liberty Hill Baptist Church with Interment to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 5:00 - 7:00 PM on Saturday, January 21, 2012 at Sutton-Baumgartner Funeral Home. Mr. Hicks is the son of the late Walter Lee and Annie Pigg Hicks. He was predeceased by a daughter Alva Hicks. He served in the US Army. He was an electrician and attended Liberty Hill Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Alean Baker Hicks of Pageland, SC; son: Cecil Hicks (Sandy) of Norwood, NC; daughter: Ophelia Deese of Pageland, SC; sisters: Davies Jordan of Pageland, SC, Maryann Funderburk (Austin) of Pageland, SC, Barbara Lowery of Monroe, NC, Hilda Outen (Edwin) of Charlotte, NC; 5 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
