Ms. Jenell Sue Caldwell, 72, of Pageland, SC went to be with her Lord on Thursday, December 24, 2020 while surrounded by her loving family. Jenell Caldwell was the daughter of the late Aaron Caldwell and Susie J. Caldwell of Pageland, SC. She is preceded in death by her brother, George Randel Caldwell, sister in law, Dianne Caldwell and brother in law, Gene Walker. She graduated from Pageland High School in 1966 and continued her education at Kings Business College. She later graduated from Kings College in 1968. She worked as a secretary for Fairley, Hamrick, Monteith & Cobb Law Firm. She decided to leave the Law Firm and work for Duke Energy in the Purchasing Department. Jenell later decided to further her education and attended Northeaster Technical College, USC at Lancaster and Wingate University. She graduated from Queens College with a Bachelors in English. While attending college she maintained a 4.0 grade point average while working full time at Duke Energy in Charlotte, NC. She did retire from Duke Energy and was given the opportunity to work in Pageland. She helped start up the Culp Weaving Plant and handle their Human Resources for more than 20 years. Jenell served on many committees while in Pageland, was past President of the Chamber of Commerce, and served on the board of directors for Sandhill Medical Center. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Pageland. For more than 30 years, she taught the Beginners Department at First Baptist. During that time she directed the children's choir and sang with the adult choir. She loved her Lord and her church. Jenell was a very strong willed woman. Ms. Jenell is survived by her sister, Brenda A. Walker of Pageland, SC; brother, Robbie Caldwell (Nora) of Seneca, SC; Nephew, Adam Caldwell (Lara); Nieces, Beverly Kirkley (Daniel), Erin Caldwell and Emsley Caldwell and great nieces, Emma and Dana Caldwell. She loved her "Grandchildren" Walker and Blair Kirkley (who called her Nana J.) and Jordan and Jacob Caldwell (who called her Aunt Nell). Jenell spoiled all of them. A Celebration of Life Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, January 3, 2021 at First Baptist Church of Pageland Cemetery with Dr. Joel Dale officiating. The burial to follow. Anyone at the service that would like to stay in their vehicle will be able to hear the service via radio. Anyone can come by Baumgartner Funeral Home on Saturday, January 2, 2021 from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM to sign the register book and pay their respects or Friday, January 1, 2021 and Saturday, January 2, 2021 at the home of her niece, Beverly Kirkley. Due to the government-mandated, COVID-19 restrictions, we ask that you practice social distancing at all times. The family would like for all attending the service to please wear a face covering.
