Larry Walker Threatt

October 28, 1947 - April 2, 2020

Mr. Larry "Lurch" Walker Threatt, 72, of Pageland, SC passed away on Thursday, April 2, 2020 at his home. Mr. Larry "Lurch" Walker Threatt was born on October 28, 1947 in Charlotte, North Carolina to the late Jessie Walker Threatt and Edith Matylee Funderburk. He was preceded in death by his brother, Jackie Ray Threatt. During the Vietnam War he served in the US Army, where he earned two purple hearts. He retired from Charlotte Plastics and started poultry and cattle farming. Larry was a handyman and the type of person that could never say, "no" to people. Because of this, he was a loving father, grandfather, and brother and was a "paw-paw" to everyone. Larry was a member of the American Legion Smith-Graves Post 92 and loved dirt track racing. Mr. Threatt is survived by his son, Nicholas Walker Threatt (Celline) of Pageland, SC; daughter, Michelle Taddarate of Monroe, NC; sisters, Teresa Mangum and Cathy Casper both of Pageland, SC; grandchildren, Trent Neuberth, Myiah Threatt, MaKenna Threatt, and Skylar Threatt all of Pageland, SC; special nephew, Derek Killough; special nieces, Lisa Smith, Tawana Kirkley, and Bridgett Price and his special pets, Smokey and BoBo. Visitation will be on Saturday, April 4, 2020 from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM at Baumgartner Funeral Home. There will be a private Celebration of Life Graveside Service on Sunday, April 5, 2020 at Smyrna Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastor Pete Gregory and Pastor Mack Mullis officiating. Burial will follow at Smyrna Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Smyrna Baptist Church, 841 Smyrna Church Road, Pageland, SC 29728.
