Mrs. Alean Baker Hicks, 93, of Pageland, SC passed away on Tuesday, February 15, 2022 in Monroe, NC with her loving family by her side. Mrs. Hicks was born on September 1, 1928 in Pageland, South Carolina to the late Dwight L.M. Baker and Rilda "Wid" Funderburk Baker. Mrs. Hicks was a member of Liberty Hill Baptist Church. She enjoyed working in the yard and loved taking care of her beautiful flowers. Mrs. Hicks also liked to quilt. She is preceded in death by her husband, James Carroll Hicks; daughter, Alva Hicks, son-in-law, Steve Deese and sisters, Vera Medlin and Leola Medlin. Mrs. Hicks is survived by her son, Cecil Hicks (Sandy) of Norwood, NC and daughter, Ophelia Deese of Pageland, SC; grandchildren, Jamie Deese (Chantele) of Monroe, NC, Randall Deese of Grand Forks, North Dakota, Jonathan Deese (Holly) of Greenville, SC, Lonnie Gordon (Teresa) of Mooresville, NC, Stockard Hicks (Stacy) of Albemarle, NC and fourteen great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM on Sunday, February 20, 2022 at Liberty Hill Baptist Church in the Fellowship Hall. A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, February 20, 2022 at 03:15 PM at Liberty Hill Baptist Church with Pastor Mack Mullis officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park of Pageland. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Liberty Hill Baptist Church, PO Box 309, Pageland, SC 29728.
