Alvin Edward
Moree
Apr 2, 1949 — Apr 17, 2026
Alvin Edward Moree, 77, of Pageland, South Carolina, passed away on April 17, 2026 while surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on April 2, 1949, in Monroe, North Carolina to the late Edward Moree and Geneva Moree Daily. Alvin was a man of deep faith who loved his Lord and cherished his family above all else. He had a generous spirit and was always willing to help anyone in need if he was able to do so. Alvin was a man of many talents, and he used his abilities to bless others and make life a little easier for those he cared about.
He served his country in Vietnam from 1969 to 1971 as an Army infantryman and was a Purple Heart recipient. His service reflected his courage, sacrifice, and commitment to something greater than himself.
He loved watching westerns, riding his golf cart, and visiting with friends. He also found peace in watching birds from his window, taking in the beauty of the world around him. He especially looked forward to Friday fish nights from the Golden Nugget in Jefferson, Sunday country style steak from Knife and Fork in Monroe, Monday spaghetti, and pintos and cornbread with his sister in law Christine, and Waffle House breakfasts with his aunt, Linda Mullis.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Wanda Sue Laney Cleveland; his infant son, Charles "Chuck" Alvin Moree; his second wife, Judy Lou Ann Tessneer Moree; his son, Johnathan Derick Moree; and his sister, Francis Moree Helms. Their memories remained close to his heart throughout his life.
Those left to cherish his memory include his daughter, Shannon Cleveland; his son, Chealse Cleveland; his brother, Kenneth Eugene Moree and wife Christine; his brothers-in-law, Tommy Tessneer and Bobby Tessner; his step-son, Jackie "Dwayne" Smith; his nephews, Tony Eugene Moree, Billy Moree, Christopher Moree, and Regenald Carpenter; his nieces, Tonya Carpenter Tomberlin and Jessica Moree Edwards; and his grandchildren, Tyler Lee Cleveland, Dallas Lane Cleveland, Brittany Nicole Carpenter, Natasha Rhaelin Shupe, Jackie Dean Smith, Christin Hamrick, Chase Derick Smith, and Samual Tyler Shane Blanton. He also leaves behind many other family members and friends who will forever hold him in their hearts.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 21, 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Baumgartner Funeral Home.
