Mrs. Anita Best Gaffney, 72, of Mint Hill, NC, passed away on Monday, October 7, 2019, in Matthews, NC with her loving family by her side. Mrs. Anita Gaffney was born on April 30, 1947 in Whiteville, NC to the late George Best, and Lillie Kiker Best. She was preceded in death by her husband, the late Edward Gaffney, her daughter, Karen Caison; and her brother, Dean Best. Mrs. Gaffney was a retired office manager in healthcare. She enjoyed doing puzzles, she enjoyed taking care of people, loved cooking and entertaining for the holidays. When Mrs. Gaffney was in good health, she enjoyed working in her yard and gardening. Mrs. Gaffney is survived by her son, Keith Caison (Bernarda) of Monroe NC; her sister, Sherry Wolfe (Paul) of Elgin, SC; grandchildren, Juan Flores, Nicholas Williams, Jensine Culbertson, and Nathan Caison, all of Monroe NC, Andrew Williams, of Charlotte NC and Jonathan Riggins of Winston Salem NC; and great grandchild, Kason Culbertson. A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be held Friday, October 11, 2019 at 2:00 PM at Baumgartner Funeral Home, 708 West McGregor St, Pageland, South Carolina. Burial to follow at White Plains Baptist Church Cemetery, 3470 White Plains Church Road, Jefferson, South Carolina. The family will greet friends on Friday, October 11, 2019 from 1:00-2:00 PM at Baumgartner Funeral Home.
