Arleda Langley Mays, 86, of Pageland, SC passed away on Saturday, December 23, 2023.

She was born Sept 8th, 1937 in the Taxahaw Community of Lancaster County. She was the daughter of the late Heyward and Neva Faile Langley. Arleda was a member of Smyrna Baptist Church. She loved working in her yard especially in her flowers, she loved being a child caregiver for local children for 27 years, including her grandchildren. Her heart was caring for children. She liked doing word search puzzles in her spare time. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Doris Jones, Mary Laney, Glendora Deese, Dean Langley, Victoria Langley, LouJean Langley and Eunice Messer; brothers, Frank, Leonard and Carson (Buck) Langley.

Arleda is survived by her husband, Fred Mays of Lexington, SC; daughter, Linda (Don) Funderburk of Tradesville, SC; son, David (Myra) Faulkenbury of Pageland, SC; grandchildren, Brett (Yolonda) Funderburk and Keisha (Brad) Pittman both of Tradesville, SC, Teran Faulkenbury of Conway, SC; great grandchildren, Trace and Talyn Funderburk, Kaydence and Briley Pittman all of Tradesville, SC; sisters, Dianne Wallace, Brenda McManus and Leneve Horne all of Pageland, SC; brother, George Langley of Pageland, SC and numerous loving nieces and nephews.

Friends can come by Baumgartner Funeral Home on Friday, December 29, 2023 from 12:00 PM – 4:00 PM to sign the register book and pay their respects.

A Celebration of Life Graveside Service will be held on Sunday, December 31, 2023 at 2:00PM at Greenlawn Memorial Park of Pageland with Pastor Mack Mullis and Pastor Shawn Macy officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 – Arleda loved this and donated faithfully to this cause.
