Pageland, SC - Azilee Elizabeth Sullivan Mangum went to be with the Lord on Monday, December 31, 2012 at White Oak Manor in Charlotte, North Carolina. Mrs. Mangum was born in Jefferson, South Carolina on April 25, 1922 to the late Samuel Franklin Sullivan and Sara Elizabeth Kirkley Sullivan. Azilee was the Seventh of Eleven Children. Mrs. Mangum was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Pageland, SC. She was an Honorary Life Member of the Presbyterian women. Azilee was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, friend and a kind and loving person who spent her life caring for her family and friends. She was the Quality Control Inspector for Sacony, Pageland Manufactory and retired from Whispering Pines, Inc. Azilee was preceded in death by her beloved husband of sixty four years, John Belton Mangum; sisters, Lizzie Sullivan, Bertha Webster and Pearlie Evans; brothers, Lonnie Sullivan, Oscar Sullivan, Harley Sullivan, Ramsey Sullivan, Fred Sullivan, Carson Sullivan, Sam Sullivan; also great grandson, David Adam Mangum. She is survived by son, John Robert Mangum of Lake Wylie, SC, daughter, Betty Sue Haithcock and husband Charles of Charlotte, NC. Survivors also include grandchildren, Melissa Ann Mangum of Lowell, NC, John Kelly Mangum of Thomasville, NC, and Michael Chad Mangum and wife, Kelly Suzanne of Greenville, SC; great grandsons, Joshua Robert Mangum of High Point, NC and John Lake Mangum of Greenville, SC. She is survived by brother-in-law, Winfred Pope of Monroe, NC and many nieces, nephews and friends. The family of Mrs. Mangum is grateful to the entire staff of White Oak Manor - Charlotte, especially East Neighborhood and Hospice of Charlotte Regions for the kind and gentle care given to her this past year. A service in Celebration of her life will be held at 2 PM on Friday, January 4, 2013 at First Presbyterian Church of Pageland. The interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park of Pageland. The family will receive friends from 1 - 2 PM in the Fellowship Hall before the service.
