Mrs. Betty Carol McManus Deese, 76, of Pageland, SC, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 20, 2013 under the loving care of Hospice and her family. Mrs. Betty Carol McManus Deese is the daughter of the late James Monroe and Almetta Stogner McManus. She is predeceased by her daughter, Zan Deese Carter, sister, Ella Ruth McManus, and brother, James Monroe McManus Jr. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Pageland and the Order of the Eastern Star. Mrs. Deese is survived by her husband, Virgil Martin Deese of the home, sons, Bradley Deese (Stephanie) of Pageland, and Brian Deese (Enith) of Pineville, NC, sisters, Mildred Faile of Pageland, SC, and Patsy Bradley of Garden City, SC, and grandchildren, Zan Malia Deese, Brannon Deese, Zaida Deese and Aleshka Deese. A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be held at 3:00 PM, Sunday, February 24, 2013 at First Baptist Church of Pageland. The interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park of Pageland. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Saturday, February 23, 2013 at Baumgartner Funeral Home.
