Obituary

Bonnie Belle Steen, 80, of Pageland, SC passed away peacefully on April 30, 2025. She was born on November 17, 1944 in Mt. Croghan, South Carolina to the late John Bufford Steen and Nora Belle Steen.

She was the heart of a large family and is predeceased by her siblings, Peggy Hargett, Junior Steen, Jake Steen, Buck Steen, Ted Steen, Hargett Steen, Pete Steen, Casey Steen, Donnie Knight, Bobbie Jean Steen, and Gracie Mae Steen. Her memory will be treasured and kept alive by her special nieces and nephew, Darlene Blackburn of Monroe, NC, Sherry Knight, and Benny Knight of Pageland, SC, along with numerous other nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews.

Bonnie was a woman of many passions and interests. She had a profound love for animals, especially rescue dogs and cats, which she cared for with great affection and dedication. Her home was a sanctuary for many furry friends over the years, and her compassionate spirit was evident in the way she nurtured every creature she encountered.

Her curious and active mind was always engaged. Bonnie was an avid listener to the scanner, staying informed about the happenings in her community. She kept meticulous notes on everything that piqued her interest, a testament to her attention to detail and love for knowledge. Bonnie's love for word search puzzles provided her with endless hours of entertainment, and she often shared this joy with those around her.

In her younger days, Bonnie was an accomplished quilter, creating beautiful and intricate designs that were not only works of art but also expressions of her love and care for her family. The quilts she made are cherished heirlooms, treasured by those who were lucky enough to receive them.

There will be a Celebration of Life Graveside Service at 4:00 PM on Sunday, May 4, 2025 at Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
