Brian Neal Livingston, of Charlotte, NC, passed away on June 30, 2025, aged 90. Brian was born on October 24, 1934, in Durban, South Africa, the son of Neal Russell Livingston and Gertrude Ellen Livingston.

He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Patricia "Pat" Livingston, and sisters, Jill Chubb and Valda Livingston. Brian is survived by his three children, Jean Meiklereid, Neal Livingston, and Paula Nguyen, and his six grandchildren, Catherine Bruce, Lauren Bruce, Andrew Nguyen, Matthew Livingston, Murray Livingston, and Marc Livingston.

Brian's life was testament to an adventurous spirit and overarching sense of responsibility, from stepping in to manage the family construction business in 1960 on the premature death of his father, to relocating his family to the USA to secure better prospects for the generations to follow, to his strong work ethic and desire to serve as family patriarch and economic provider.

Brian will be well remembered for his passion for fishing and all things nautical (he lived many years in Vero Beach, Florida but his all-time favorite fishing spot was Green Turtle Cay in the Bahamas), his love of motoring (especially vintage British cars and motorcycles), his travels (he was a big fan of the Edinburgh searchlite tattoo pipe bands), and his penchant for big band jazz music. Brian will be interred alongside Pat, his beloved wife of 57 years, and his cherished Schnauzer dog, Lily.

We bid farewell to Brian after a life well-lived and many fond memories.

Friends and family are welcome to attend the Memorial on July 22, 2025, at 11:00 am at Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church, 3307 Rea Road, Charlotte, NC 28226. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Friends of Timothy at the same address.
