Obituary

Bruce Pierson Jordan, 74, of Pageland, SC passed away peacefully after an extended illness on July 28, 2024 at Atrium Healthcare Union in Monroe, NC. He was born on February 11, 1950 in Chesterfield, South Carolina to the late James C. Jordan and Annie Lee Brock Jordan. He was predeceased by his wife, Martha "Sue" Jordan; his brothers, Bobby Jordan and Graylon Jordan and sister, Bonnie Amberson.

He was raised in a Christian home filled with love, hard work and faith in the Lord. He often preached, sang and played guitar with his mother and siblings in his father's church in Charlotte, NC. Later in life, he became an ordained minister following in the footsteps of his father and oldest brother.

His youth was marked by adventurous days riding motorcycles and hunting with his family and friends. He enjoyed going to the beach, fishing, NFL, he was an avid Dale Earnhardt fan and continued to love NASCAR racing, golfing, cooking out, as well as, spending time with family and friends.

Bruce was known for his dedicated leadership as a meat market manager for Food Lion for many years, as well as, several other large chain grocery stores. His colleagues respected him for his leadership, work ethic and his ability to mentor others in the trade.

Bruce never met a stranger. He had many friends and was always willing to lend a helping hand whenever the occasion arose. His spiritual journey was the cornerstone of his life, providing strength and comfort to himself, his family and all that he ministered to.

Bruce was a strong and humble man with an enormous heart and loving spirit. He was a rock of strength and shelter to his family and will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his loving daughter, Wendi Jordan (Larry Lucio) of Supply, NC; stepson, Chris Philmon (Amanda) of Clarksville, TN; brothers, John "Wayne" Jordan, Sr. (Pat) of Charlotte, NC and Lloyd Jordan (Rita) of Dawsonville, GA; sisters, Jenny Gibson of Cramerton, NC, Ann Clark of Pineville, NC and Sherry Hicks (David) of York, SC. Bruce's role as a grandfather was one he embraced with all his heart, leaving behind cherished memories for his grandchildren, Alexys Lagusis, Ciarra Lucio, Hunter Lucio, Dylon Philmon, Preston Philmon and Chrissy Philmon. He is also survived by his aunt, Pansy and his special friend, Betty Kiker of Pageland, SC.

Private Cremation Arrangements as per family's request.
