Catherine Elaine McLeod Hurst, 73, of Mt. Gilead, NC, formerly of Pageland, SC passed away peacefully on October 31, 2024 in Macon, Georgia.

She was born on October 26, 1951 in Macon, GA to the late Buford Boone, Sr. and Mary Lou Jones Boone. Catherine was a beacon of joy and kindness throughout her life. Catherine's zest for life was evident in her impeccable sense of style, always seen with her hair styled to perfection and her nails meticulously manicured. Her younger years were joyfully spent camping in the mountains. Catherine's kitchen was a haven of delicious aromas and warmth, where she lovingly prepared meals that brought family and friends together. Her devotion to her beloved baby girl, Kayleigh, was unparalleled.

Catherine was predeceased by her beloved husband, Craven A. Hurst; her daughter, Wendy Nicole Sumner and brothers, Buford Boone, Jr. and Daniel Eric Boone.

Catherine is survived by her children, Chuck McLeod (Shannon) of Warner Robins, GA, and Angela Kintner (Charles Powell) of Beaufort, SC; sister, Jeannine Norman of Michigan, her six grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.

There will be a Celebration of Life Graveside Service on Monday, November 18, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery in Monroe, North Carolina. The family will visit friends following the graveside service.
