Mr. Charles Russell Arant Sr., 81, of Pageland, SC went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, August 22, 2017 while surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Charles Russell Arant Sr. was born on October 20, 1935 in Waxhaw, NC to the late Bundy Arant and Ina Moree Arant. He was a member of Philadelphia Baptist Church for many years. Mr. Arant was an avid gardener and loved to fish. He enjoyed making sling-shots for all the children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mr. Arant is preceded in death by his parents, brothers, W.B. Arant and Emory Arant and sister, Oleen Smothers. Those left to celebrate and remember his life include his loving wife of 61 years, Mary Estelle Arant of Pageland, SC, sons, Russell Arant (Sherry) of Pageland, SC and Roger Arant (Sandra) of Pageland, SC, six grandchildren, Kristen Arant, Kerri Rowell, Samantha Sessions, Amelia Arant, Adam Arant and Steven Arant and four great grandchildren, Grant Rowell, Claire Rowell, Isabella Sessions and Hanna Arant. A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, August 25, 2017 at Philadelphia Baptist Church in Marshville, NC with Pastor Caroll Anthony and Rev. Joey Rowell officiating. The burial will follow at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 PM on Thursday, August 24, 2017 at Baumgartner Funeral Home.
