Mr. Charles Preston Rorie, 74, of Pageland, SC passed away on Saturday, November 24, 2012. Mr. Rorie is the son of the late Preston and Pearl Nash Rorie. Mr. Rorie is preceded in death by his step - father, Horace H. Rorie and nephew, Morris Sneed. He retired from Thomas Gas as a Truck Driver and Service Technician. He also worked for Lynches River Electric for 20 years. Mr. Rorie was a Member of First Presbyterian Church of Pageland, a Charter Member of the High Point Eastside Volunteer Fire Department and a Member of the Pageland and Jefferson Rescue Squad. Mr. Rorie served in the United States Army as well. He is survived by his wife, Linda Rorie of 48 years, daughter, Lelia Smith (Rodney) of Ninety Six, SC, brother, Cecil W. Rorie (Martha) of Jefferson, SC, sister, Joan Sneed of Lancaster, SC, grandchildren, Rory D. Smith of Ninety Six, SC and Graham L. Smith of Ninety Six, SC, nephews, Norris Sneed (Donna) of Kingsport, TN and Doug Rorie (Susan) of Pageland, SC. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, November 27, 2012 at First Presbyterian Church of Pageland. The interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park of Pageland. The family will receive friends from 6 - 8 PM, Monday, November 26, 2012 at Sutton-Baumgartner Funeral Home.
