Mr. Claude "Buddy" Evans Oliver, 82, of Jefferson, South Carolina went to be with his Lord on Wednesday, March 22, 2017. Buddy was born in Chesterfield County to the late Reece Evans Oliver and Katherine Kirkley Oliver. He later met and united in marriage to the late Carolyn "Midge" Pruitt Oliver. After retiring from DuPont in 1993 after 25 years, Buddy spent his free time farming, net fishing, going to the beach and traveling. He was also an auto salesman for many years. Buddy was a faithful member to Fork Creek United Methodist Church, where he was part of the Fork Creek Church Men's Club. One of Buddy's greatest accomplishments was being a US Army Veteran as well as being a Mason for over 50 years. Buddy's love for his family and friends will continue on in the hearts of everyone who was privileged to know him. In addition to his parents and loving wife, Buddy is preceded in death by brothers, Jimmy Oliver, Bobby Oliver and Billy Oliver, sister, Sara Oliver Deese. Those left to celebrate and remember his life include his loving son, Kenny E. Oliver (Angie) of Jefferson, South Carolina, daughters, Cynthia O. Smith (Eddie) of Jefferson and Kim O. Giocondo (Leo) of Fort Mill, South Carolina, brothers, Jerry Oliver and Marshall Oliver both of Jefferson, South Carolina, sisters, Thelma Oliver Graves of Dawsonville, Georgia, Joyce Helms and Patsy Elzey both of Jefferson, South Carolina, grandchildren, Brandi Fleeman of Salisbury, North Carolina, Josh Smith (Kenesha) of Jefferson, South Carolina, Ian Giocondo of Fort Mill, South Carolina, Noah Giocondo of Fort Mill, South Carolina, Dylan Knoles of Jefferson, South Carolina, great-grandchildren, Caleb Fleeman of Salisbury, North Carolina, Cooper Fleeman of Salisbury, North Carolina and Emory Smith of Jefferson, South Carolina. A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, March 25, 2017 at Fork Creek United Methodist Church with Pastor Carl Ritter officiating. Burial will following in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM. on Friday, March 24, 2017 at Fork Creek United Methodist Church, 643 Sandhill Volunteer Fire Department Rd., Jefferson, SC 29728.
