Obituary

Dianne Hartis Deese, 81, of Pageland, SC passed away peacefully on January 12, 2025 at Spring Hill Assisted Living surrounded by her loving family and friends.

Dianne was born on June 9, 1943 in Pageland, SC to the late Walter Rufus Hartis and Marie McClain Hartis.

Dianne later met the love of her life, Genne Lee "Gent" Deese. Although predeceased by her husband, their son, Randy Gene Deese; brothers, Walter Hartis and Larry Hartis; sisters, Mary Jane Laney, Helen Rogers and Carolyn Steen Dianne's legacy continues through her surviving family. Her son, Ricky Lee Deese (Lorie) of Mt. Croghan, SC and her daughter, Lynn Deese Albertson (Kenny) of Marshville, NC; sister, Jeanette Wright of Great Falls, SC will miss her deeply.

Dianne's role as a grandmother was one of her greatest joys. She cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren, Brittany Wright Funderburk (Demond), Nick Deese (Demi), Johnathan Albertson and Erica Albertson O'Neal (Taylor). Her great-grandchildren, Carleigh Wright, Mason Albertson, Logan O'Neal, Mia Funderburk, Tully Deese Evelynn Albertson and Lydia O'Neal brought immense happiness to her later years. She will also be missed by numerous nieces and nephews and special friends, especially Bobbi Graves.

A dedicated member of Oak Street Baptist Church, Dianne served as a Sunday School Teacher for the Children's Church for 20 years and for the Adult Class for 8 years. Her commitment to her faith was further exemplified by her role as the Church Treasurer for 6 years. Dianne's love for the Lord was evident in every aspect of her life, and she found great fulfillment in working for the church and spreading kindness and compassion. Dianne was a respected employee at Chesterfield Yarn Mill, where she retired after 43 years of dedicated service. Her work ethic and commitment to excellence were recognized by all who had the pleasure of working alongside her. She enjoyed spending time going to the beach and mountains. She would love to listen to all kinds of music, but especially Elvis.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, January 14, 2025 at Baumgartner Funeral Home.

A Celebration of Life Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, January 15, 2025 at Greenlawn Memorial Park of Pageland with Pastor Rodney Nicholson officiating.
