Donna Jean
Howle
Aug 2, 1961 — Dec 20, 2025
Donna Newsom Howle, 64, of Ruby, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on December 20, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born on August 2, 1961 in Florence, South Carolina to the late Jewell Newsom and Hal Newsom.
Donna was a devoted mother, grandmother, and educator whose life was rooted in service, compassion, and love. She proudly served as a school teacher at McBee High School, where she touched countless lives with her patience, encouragement, and dedication to her students. Teaching was not just her profession, it was part of who she was. Outside of the classroom, Donna found joy in the kitchen, where cooking was her way of caring for others and bringing family together.
Donna was preceded in death by her husband, Heyward Howle; her parents, Jewell and Hal Newsom; and her brother, Jamie Newsom.
She is survived by her daughter, Jessica McManus, and her husband, Chad McManus, of Ruby; her son, Adam Howle, and his wife, Emalie Howle, of Aiken; her stepson, Chris Howle; and her stepdaughter, Tina Sanders, and her husband, Jay Sanders. She was a proud and loving grandmother to ten grandchildren: Nathan, Matthew, Emma, Ansley, CJ, Jaylen, Harrison, Pierson, Waylen, and Mason.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM on Saturday, December 27, 2025, at Rose Memorial Church of the Nazarene, located at 1005 N. Pearl Street, Pageland, South Carolina.
There will be a Celebration of Life Funeral Service on Saturday, December 27, 2025, at 3:00 PM at Rose Memorial Church of the Nazarene, with Pastor Scott Gibson officiating.
Though our hearts grieve her loss, we take comfort in the promise that this goodbye is not forever.
"For since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so, through Jesus, God will bring with Him those who have fallen asleep."
- 1 Thessalonians 4:14
She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Heyward Thomas Howle Memorial Scholarship Fund, 5730 Hwy 265, Ruby, SC 29741.
