Mrs. Elaine Smith, 86, of Pageland, SC passed away on Wednesday, July 27, 2022 in Monroe, NC. Mrs. Smith was born on May 22, 1936 in Kannapolis, North Carolina, the daughter of the late Hazel Miller Marlow. She was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church in Jefferson, SC. She loved to spend time with her pride and joy, her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Elaine liked to watch game shows and soap operas on television and work digital crossword puzzles on her IPad. She was an avid NASCAR fan that loved to watch Dale Earnhardt. She is predeceased by her husband, Alon Smith; sister, Norma Jean Herndon and great granddaughter, Phoenix Leitch. Mrs. Smith is survived by her son, Steve Smith (Monty) of Charlotte, NC; daughter, Nancy Benton (Charles) of Jefferson, SC; grandchildren, Shannon Grant, Lindsey Leitch and Alon Smith all of Charlotte, NC, Mason Benton of Lancaster, SC and Paige Allison of Jefferson, SC and great grandchildren, Jackson Grant, Levi Grant, Shelby Grant, Sidney Leitch, Lucas Leitch, Laiken Allison, Weston Allison, Claire Benton and Chase Benton. A Celebration of Life Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, August 2, 2022 at Greenlawn Memorial Park of Pageland with Pastor David Sanders officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park of Pageland. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Macedonia Baptist Church, 3944 Johnson Road, Jefferson, SC 29718.
