Dorothy "Dot" Louise Starnes Mills, 87, of Pageland, SC passed away peacefully on June 20, 2025 while surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on January 23, 1938, to Guy Clifford Starnes and Lillie Kennington Starnes Baker. Dot was predeceased by her husband, Bobby Mills and her sisters, Marian Jean Funderburk, Kathryn Thompson Willis and Margaret Lynn. Dot was a lifelong member of Providence Baptist Church since 1957. For many years, Dot was a dedicated employee at Mackie Vending Machine Company in Rock Hill, SC, where her friendly demeanor and diligent work ethic made her a beloved figure among her colleagues and clients. Her professional life was marked by the same warmth and generosity that she extended to her friends and family. Dot found joy in music and the movement of dance. Her love for singing, especially Elvis Pressley was only matched by her passion for the beach, where she spent countless hours basking in the sun and cherishing the ocean's vast beauty. She also loved telling funny stories of her past experiences.

Dot is survived by her son, Shannon Mills of Florence, SC; sisters, Nancy S. Lowery of Pageland, SC, and Sylvia S. Brunson (Henry) of Hampton, SC, will miss her deeply, as will her numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews.

The family would like to take this time to thank the Staff of Springhill Assisted Living and her devoted caregivers, Angie Restivo and Nora Richardson for their compassionate care.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM Sunday, June 22 2025, at Providence Baptist Church.

There will be a Celebration of Life Funeral Service on Sunday, June 22, 2025 at 3:00 PM at Providence Baptist Church with Pastor David Bridwell and Dr. Roger Wall officiating. The burial will follow at First Baptist Church of Pageland Cemetery.
