Mrs. Dorothy Srite Courtney, 75, of Charlotte, North Carolina passed away on Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at her home. Dorothy was born on September 22, 1942 in Denison, Texas to Marie Dophieb and the late James Srite. She later met and united in marriage to Mr. James Courtney. Dorothy was a big wrestling fan, as well as, a Dallas Cowboy fan. In her free time, Dorothy enjoyed reading and watching westerns especially watching John Wayne. She also loved traveling, she visited Graceland and South Fork Ranch frequently. Dorothy loved her family with all her heart, she was especially proud of her grandchildren they were truly the love of her life. She will be dearly missed by all the lives she touched during her time here with us. Those left to celebrate and remember her life include her loving husband, James Courtney of Charlotte, North Carolina, mother, Marie Dophieb of Concord, NC; sons, Kevin J. Courtney (Missy) of Mount Holly, North Carolina and Ricky Courtney (Becky) of Concord, North Carolina; daughter, Jill Anderson (David) of Rock Hill, South Carolina; four grandchildren, Ken Walker (Molly) of Lancaster, South Carolina, Savannah Courtney of Mount Holly, North Carolina, Luke Courtney of Mount Holly, North Carolina and Mitchell Courtney of Concord, North Carolina. A Celebration of Life Graveside Service will be held at 12:45 PM on Saturday, January 6, 2018 at White Plains Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the Graveside Service from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM on Saturday, January 6, 2018 at Baumgartner Funeral Home, 708 West McGregor Street, Pageland, South Carolina 29728. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children, 950 West Faris Road, Greenville, South Carolina 29605.
