Obituary

Edith Neal Lowry, age 91, of Pageland, SC went Home to be with The Lord on June 4, 2017. She was born in Lancaster, SC on September 10, 1925 to Rev. Roy Neal and Etta Hammond Neal. Mrs. Lowry was a member of Providence Baptist Church. She loved her church family. She was a Sunday School teacher for sixty years. Mrs. Lowry was preceded in death by her parents listed above, her husband, Howard D. Lowry, two sons, Joseph Tod Lowry and Howard Neal Lowry and two sisters, Claudia Williams of Kershaw, SC and Doris Hancock (Hank) of Camden, SC. Survivors include daughters: Jill (Jerry) Sullivan of Pageland, SC, Gail (Bill) Scurry of Huntersville, NC, Lynn (Rex) Nicholson of Pageland, SC and Carol Axley of Matthews, NC, son, Rev. Tim (Kim) Lowry of Pageland, SC, eight grandchildren, David Whitaker, Will Scurry, Andy Nicholson, April Branham, Neal Axley, Jamie Axley, Lisa Owens and Ethan Lowry and ten great grandchildren, Taylor Whitaker, Connor Whitaker, Sloan Scurry, Carsen Scurry, Sarah Branham, JohnPaul Axley, Brody Owens, Brock Owens, Gracie Axley and Marcus Axley. She is also survived by her four brothers, Marion (Doris) Neal of North Charleston, SC, Dr. Archie (Sybil) Neal of Easley, SC, Rev. Steve (Carol) Neal of Heath Springs, SC and Bruce (Phyllis) Neal of Kershaw, SC and brother-in-law Douglas Williams of Kershaw, SC. Visitation will be 1:00-3:00 PM on Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at Providence Baptist Church, Pageland, SC. The Funeral Service will follow at 3:00 PM at the church conducted by Dr Roger Wall. Family burial will follow at White Plains Baptist Church Cemetery, Jefferson, SC. Because Edith was passionate about missions, it is suggested that memorials may be given to the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering at Providence Baptist Church or your local church.
