Elizabeth (Lib) Teal Ellis, 97, died peacefully on September 5, 2023. She was predeceased by her husband, George E. Ellis, her parents, John Lucas and Annie Jane Teal, and brothers, Robert Teal, JL Teal and Jerry Teal.

Born in Chesterfield, SC, Mrs. Ellis moved to Pageland, SC after her marriage. She lived there until she moved to nursing care in Columbia, SC for her final years. A true entrepreneur before females were recognized as such, she and her husband owned an insurance and real estate agency as well as retail businesses and rental properties. She was active in the community as a leader and was instrumental in driving improvements throughout the town of Pageland for many years. Breast cancer could not defeat her as she lived for over 30 years after her initial diagnosis. She was a faithful member of Pageland First Baptist Church.

Mrs. Ellis is survived by her son, Ed Ellis (Jean); daughter, Babs Kesser (Ed); grandchildren, Ashley Minetti (Ryan), Beth Kesser (Miguel), Mark Kesser (Theresa), David Kesser (Jessica) and Matt Kesser (Brittney) and 12 and 3/4 (1 due in November) wonderful great-grandchildren.
