Mr. Emmit Thomas Griffin, Sr. 80, of Pageland, SC went to be with his Lord on Saturday, December 25, 2021 at his home. Mr. Griffin was born on August 5, 1941 to the late Raymond T. Griffin, Sr. and Ruth Moser Griffin in Monroe, NC. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 50 years, the late Jana P. Griffin; sister, Elsie Griffin Thomas; brothers, Emsely Wayne Griffin and Billy Franklin Griffin; daughter, Jana Annette Jones; daughter in law, Tammye Williamson; granddaughter, Kristen Griffin, cousin, Homer Burgess: sister in law, Louise Griffin and his fur baby, Rambo. He was a truck driver for over 28 years. He was a member of Wolf Pond Baptist Church. Mr. Griffin enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially fishing with his wife. Mr. Griffin enjoyed spending time and talking with his family and friends, he never met a stranger. Mr. Griffin is survived by his sons, Charles Michael Griffin of Columbia, SC, Emmit Thomas "Chip" Griffin, Jr. (Tami) of Woodstock, GA and Timothy Todd Griffin (Joni) of Jacksonville, FL; daughters, Gwen Fowler (Josh) of Jacksonville, FL and Debbie Kennington (Jim) of Jacksonville, FL; brother, Raymond Griffin Jr. of Pageland, SC; sixteen grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren; cousins, Jerry Austin and Carson Deese and special friends, John Outen, Stoney Funderburk, Lance Aldridge, Cole Slaw Jackson and Ronnie Sires. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM on Thursday, December 30, 2021 at Baumgartner Funeral Home, Pageland, SC. A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be held on Friday, December 31, 2021 at 1:00 PM at Liberty Hill Baptist Church with Pastor Hank Griffin, Pastor Mack Mullis and Mr. Lance Aldridge officiating. Burial will follow at Wolf Pond Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Liberty Hill Baptist Church, PO Box 309, Pageland, SC 29728, or St. Jude's Children Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis TN, 38105.
