Mrs. Floreet Steen Johnson, 89, of Monroe, NC formally of Hartsville, SC passed away on Tuesday, July 28, 2020 in Monroe NC while surrounded by her loving family.
Mrs. Floreet Steen Johnson was born on April 3, 1931 in Chesterfield, South Carolina to the late Lee Steen and Carrie Griggs Steen. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Derrel Johnson Sr.; son, Edward Derrel Johnson Jr.; daughter in law, Kathy Johnson; brothers, L. C. Steen and Sidney Steen and sister, Dorothy "Dot" Kirven.
Mrs. Johnson was a member and attended Chapel Hill Baptist Church when she stayed in Hartsville, then later when she moved to Monroe NC became a member and attended New Salem Baptist Church. She retired from PCA in 2005 at the age of 74. Mrs. Johnson spent a lot of time with her family and loved holidays and decorating, especially at Christmas. Floreet loved attending weddings and various parties. She liked shiny and sparkly things, the fancier the better. Mrs. Johnson enjoyed to travel to different places. Her favorite places to go were to the beach and Pigeon Forge, TN.
Mrs. Johnson is survived by her daughter, Lynda Terry (Kenneth) of Pageland, SC; brothers, G. W. Steen and Wayne Steen (Larue) both of Hartsville, SC; sisters, Avise Crowley (C. W.) and Marie Euten (Ricky) both of Hartsville, SC; sister-in laws, Judy Steen of Hartsville, SC and Ann Griggs of Concord, NC; grandchildren, Tammy Gardner (Richard) of Lancaster, SC, Kenny Terry (Tammy) of Cincinnati, OH, Tammy Nobilski (John) of Krakow, Poland, and Chris Johnson (Heidi) of Waxhaw, NC; great grandchildren, James Gardner, Emily Gardner, Emma Terry, Anna Terry, Chris "C.J." Johnson Jr. (Ashley), and Kayla Johnson and two great-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 30, 2020 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Baumgartner Funeral Home in Pageland, SC. There will be a Celebration of Life Funeral Service on Friday, July 31, 2020 at 1:00 PM in the Chapel of Baumgartner Funeral Home, Pageland, SC with Pastor Mark Phillips and Pastor Douglas Rumley officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, 1635 Cedar Creek Rd. Hartsville, SC.
