Mr. George Katchue, 83, of Waxhaw, North Carolina went to be with his Lord on Thursday, June, 1, 2017 while surrounded by his loving family and while under the care of Hospice. George was born in Jersey City, New Jersey on July 16, 1933 to the late John Katchure and Anna Banis. Mr. Katchue served in the United States Navy from 1952 until 1954. He became a retired firefighter with the Union Fire Department in Union, New Jersey after 25 years on the force. George was also a member of the Call's Men Rescue Squad as well as a member of the American Legion in Waxhaw. In addition to his parents, George is preceded in death by a sister, Florence Bourey. George leaves behind wife of 52 years, Patricia "Pat" Katchue of Waxhaw, NC, son, George Katchue and wife Rhonda of Pageland, SC, daughter, Kathy Boyd and husband Frank of Waxhaw, granddaughter, Caitlin Bradshaw and husband Alan, great-granddaughter Lexi all of Monroe, NC, sister, Annamarie Anderson and many nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, June 4, 2017 at Shiloh Baptist Church with Pastor Ron Hanna officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM. on Sunday, June 4, 2017 at Shiloh Baptist Church, 2301 N Rocky River Rd., Monroe, North Carolina 28110.
