Pageland, SC Mr. Horace Blackston, 88, of Pageland, SC went to be with his Lord on Wednesday, June 11, 2014 while surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Blackston was born in Great Falls, South Carolina to the late Ernest Leonard and Ruth Edgar Blackston. He was later joined in marriage to Margaret T. Blackston who precedes him in death. He is also preceded in death by his Brother, Joe Blackston and Sister, Kathleen Blackston. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Pageland. He graduated from Erskine College where he first met his wife Margaret. At the age of 17, he joined the US Marines serving in the Pacific region. He was the owner of Blackston Photography and was a Teacher, Coach and Principal at Pageland High School. Mr. Blackston is survived by his Son, Bill Blackston (Deborah) of Rock Hill, SC, Daughter, Terry Rogers (Len) of Rock Hill, SC, Sister, Linda Marsh (Don) of Bottineau, ND, Grandchildren, Brad Blackston, Matt Blackston and Maggie Rogers, Step-Grandchildren, Jason Wilson, Melissa Dunkerley, and Scott Rogers, Two Great Grandchildren and Six Step-Great Grandchildren. A Celebration of Life Graveside Service will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, June 15, 2014 at Greenlawn Memorial Park of Pageland. The family will receive friends following the Graveside at First Baptist Church of Pageland in the Fellowship Hall.
