Mrs. Ida Sims Horne, 76, of Pageland, SC passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 26, 2022 while surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Ida Sims Horne was born on January 9, 1946 in Kershaw, SC to the late Boston Sims and Lillie Faile Sims. Mrs. Ida always looked forward to traveling with family to the mountains. She enjoyed being outside and working in her yard and her flower gardens. Mrs. Ida was a member of Union Hill Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her first husband, James F. "Jimmy" Horne, second husband, Matthew "Buddy" Powell; her daughter, Robin Annette Horne; eight brothers and sisters and three great great grandchildren Mrs. Ida is survived by her loving sons, Mark Horne (Christine) of Pageland, SC and James F. Horne, Jr. (Mary B.) of Manning, SC; daughters, Margie Pierce (Richard) of McBee, SC and Teresa Small (Donald Small) of Lancaster, SC; sisters, Brenda Sutton (Tom) of Salisbury, NC and Karen "Sissy" Carnes of Lancaster, SC; grandchildren, Mark Horne, Jr., Michael Horne, Tiffany Horne, Amber Beasley, Aaron Horne, Haley Pierce, Ryan Pierce, Miranda Tarlton, Kevin Plyler and Colton Plyler; step-grandson, Donavon Small; twenty two great grandchildren; one great great grandchild and her fur babies, Sugar, Peppy and BoBo. The family will receive friends Visitation will be on Monday, February 28, 2022 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Baumgartner Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM on March 1, 2022 at Union Hill Baptist Church with Pastor Robin Hewitt officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park of Pageland. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Union Hill Baptist Church, C/O Brenda Sullivan, 268 Cato Heights Lane, Pageland, SC 29728.
