Mr. James Henry Mills, 91, of Pageland, South Carolina passed away on Sunday, November 12, 2017 surrounded by his loving family and while under the care of Hospice of Chesterfield County. James was born in Pageland, South Carolina on May 22, 1926 to the late James Mills and Nettie Rayfield Mills. James was a contractor and was an owner of Mills Construction Company. He was a member of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church and had a firm belief in his faith. He was also the type of person who never said a mean thing. Those left to celebrate and remember his life include his loving wife, Jeanette Mills of Pageland, South Carolina; sons, Steve Mills (Vickie) of Pageland, South Carolina and Robert Eugene "Gene" Mills (Margaret) of Monroe, North Carolina; daughters, Marilyn Collins (Ricky) and Carol Carlton (Russell) both of Monroe, North Carolina; six grandchildren, Steve Mills Jr. (Lisa), Carey Whitley (Brian), Ryan Collins (Tamara), Kelly Castillo, Kristy Parrish and Tammie Jordan (Scottie); eight great-grandchildren, Blake Mills, Brooke Mills, Hillary Rape, Joseph Aldridge, Keith Aldridge, Nathan Arant, Tylor Brown and Amber Brown; three great great-grandchildren, Sophia Jones, Dakota Jones, and Natalie Rape, also one sister, Lucy Whiteneck of Newport News, Virginia. A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, November 15, 2017 in the Chapel of Baumgartner Funeral Home with Bobby Parker officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park of Pageland. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at Baumgartner Funeral Home, 708 West McGregor Street, Pageland, South Carolina 29728.
