James Luther "Jamie" Hildreth, 93, of Pageland, SC went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 22, 2024 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Jamie was a graduate of Pageland High School in 1949. After graduating school, he joined the Air Force and served four years. After returning home, he worked for Hursey Chevrolet in Pageland, SC, Griffin Motors in Monroe, NC and Outen Chevrolet in Pageland, SC. He later went into business for himself for forty-seven years owning H&H towing SVC, moving mobile homes until retirement when he was eighty-seven and half. He is survived by his wife, Kitty Hicks Hildreth of the home; son, Sean Hildreth of Pageland, SC; daughter, Janice Cato Autry of Pageland, SC; grandchildren, Gabrella Terry of Tampa Bay FL, Nicholas "Nick" Hildreth of Pageland SC and Becca Hildreth of Pageland, SC; great grandchildren, Nickey Hildreth of Monroe, NC and Milaya Dawn Hildreth of Pageland, SC; sister-in-laws, Shirley Hildreth of Locust, NC and Violet Hildreth of Huntersville, NC; numerous nieces and nephews; friends, Angelina Stroud and Riley Stroud both of Lancaster, SC and Brooke Fowler of Monroe, NC, and the mother of Nickey, Amy Shelton.

Jamie's interests were a reflection of his appreciation for life's simple pleasures. His passion for car racing brought an exhilarating rush to his weekends as he cheered on his favorite drivers. He loved life and loved to tell jokes to make people laugh. He never did forget a single joke. Jamie loved his family and they always came first in his life. He was the happiest when he was doing something for others.
