Mr. James Albert Lowery, 87, of Pageland, SC went to be with his Lord on Thursday, August 17, 2017 while surrounded by his loving family. Mr. James Albert Lowery was born on May 19, 1930 in Wadesboro, North Carolina to the late Julius Boyd and Lila Dutton Lowery. He worked for Smith Trucking Company for 16 years and was a member of Philadelphia Baptist Church since 1969. Albert also served our country in the United States Army. He was an avid Jeff Gordon fan. In addition to his parents, Albert is preceded in death by his brothers, JB Lowery, Everette Lowery, Bryce Lowery, Gene Lowery and Harold Lowery. Those left to celebrate and remember his life include his loving wife of 64 years, Nancy Starnes Lowery of Pageland, SC, sons, Mark Lowery (Amy) of Columbia, SC, Marion Lowery (Teresa) of Marshville, NC, Mickey Lowery (Karen) of Monroe, NC and Michael Lowery (Gale) of Myrtle Beach, SC, Daughter, Michele Evans (Todd) of Pageland, SC, brothers, Lex Lowery (Joanne) of Emporia, VA and Danny Lowery of Roanoke Rapids, NC, sister, Frances Trainer of Prince George, VA, twelve Grandchildren and eight Great Grandchildren. A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be held at 4:00 PM on Saturday, August 19, 2017 at Philadelphia Baptist Church with Pastor Caroll Anthony and Pastor Mel Winstead officiating. The burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM on Friday, August 18, 2017 at Philadelphia Baptist Church in the Family Life Center. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Philadelphia Baptist Church, c/o Building Fund, 5709 Philadelphia Church Rd., Marshville, NC 28103.
