Mr. James "Jimmy" Marshall Mangum, 72, of Pageland, South Carolina passed away peacefully on Friday, October 5, 2018 at CHS-Union surrounded by his loving family. Jimmy was born on April 24, 1946 in Chesterfield County, South Carolina to the late Lenson Mangum and Gladys Sullivan Mangum. Jimmy grew up in the Pageland Community where he later met and united in marriage to the love of his life of 50 years the late Nancy Melton Mangum. Jimmy was the owner and operator of Jimmy's Produce in Monroe and Pageland, as well as, Mangum's Produce in Pageland, South Carolina. One of Jimmy's biggest passions was the joy he received from farming. When he was not farming, he enjoyed spending time watching the Central High School Eagles Sports Teams. Though he loved farming and sports, the greatest joy Jimmy received was being able to spend time with his grandchildren whom he was very proud of and loved dearly. Jimmy was also a member of New Covenant Baptist Church. In addition to his parents and wife, Nancy, Jimmy is preceded in death by a brother, Jackey "Round" Lenson Mangum and a sister, Janet Elizabeth Mangum. Those left to celebrate and remember his life include his loving daughters, Jamie Griffin (Nick) of Peachland, North Carolina and Kelly Kirby (Jerry) of Jefferson, South Carolina; brothers, Jerry Mangum (Sandra) of Charlotte, North Carolina, Joey Mangum (Joyce) and Red Mangum (Sandra) both of Pageland, South Carolina; four grandchildren, Tyler Parker (Ashley) of Pageland, South Carolina, Logan Parker of Pageland, South Carolina, Lilly Elizabeth Kirby and Emilyn Jayne Kirby both of Jefferson, South Carolina; special aunt, Frances Reeves of Kershaw, South Carolina; son of the heart, Thomas Louallen (Jeanette) of Pageland, South Carolina; nephews, Greg Mangum, Jason Mangum, and J.R. Mangum; nieces, Holly Troxell and Jessie Kimrey; great-niece, Camryn Troxell; also great-nephew, Connor Troxell. The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Sunday, October 7, 2018 at Baumgartner Funeral Home, 708 West McGregor Street, Pageland, South Carolina 29728 and other times at 205 East Godfrey Street, Pageland, South Carolina 29728. A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be held at 5:00 P.M. on Monday, October 8, 2018 in the Sanctuary of South Pointe Fellowship Church, 28981 Highway 9, Pageland, South Carolina 29728 with Pastor Tim Madaris officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park of Pageland. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to Central High School, c/o Volleyball Team, 200 Zion Church Road, Pageland, South Carolina 29728.
