Mr. James Myron "Jimmy" Pigg, 78, of Jefferson, SC, passed away at home on Tuesday, November 23, 2021 surrounded by his loving family after a long battle with multiple health problems. Jimmy was born on August 31, 1943 in Pageland, SC to the late John Park and Gladys Autry Pigg. Jimmy graduated from Pageland High School in 1961 and began a career at Springs Industries where he worked for 45 years. While working at Springs, Jimmy served in the National Guard. Jimmy was an active outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, skeet shooting, swimming, riding motorcycles, building, and most of all, waterskiing, in which he completed and won many trophies. It was through his love of water skiing that he met the love of his life, Linda, after breaking his leg after a ski jump: a story that he loved to tell his nurses during his frequent stays in the hospital for blood transfusions to help with his Thalassemia. Jimmy was a faithful member of Jefferson Presbyterian Church where he served as a session member and treasurer for many years. He will be remembered as a kind hearted man who had a friendly word for everyone he met and a devoted family man who always put his loved ones first. Jimmy is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Linda H. Pigg of Jefferson, SC; daughters, Julie of Jefferson, SC, Natalie (Cory) of Cornelius, NC; brothers, Dickey(Jenny) Pigg of Pageland, SC, Donnie (Pattie) Pigg of Pageland, SC; sisters, Dianne Catoe of Lancaster, SC and Brenda Ewing of Greenville, SC; grandsons, Cameron, Logan, Everett and Barrett all of Cornelius, NC and numerous nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, November 26, 2021 at Jefferson Presbyterian Church with Pastor David Bessinger officiating. Burial will follow at Jefferson Town Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM preceding the service.
