James Curtis Rollings, 89, of Pageland, South Carolina passed away on Saturday, June 30, 2018 at Hospice of Union County surrounded by his loving family.
Curt was born on May 19, 1929 in Pageland, South Carolina to late James Cleveland Rollings and Mary Lee Price Rollings. Curt grew up in the Pageland Community where he graduated from Pageland High School and was a member of First Baptist Church of Pageland. He later met and united in marriage to the late Violet Steen Rollings whom he was a devoted husband and caregiver to for many years. Curt was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force. After being discharged from the Air Force, he began his working career. Curt worked for The Pageland Police Department as a Police Officer, as well as, for Tyson as a Poultry Farmer. He had a strong love and passion for farming. Curt was also the co-owner and operator of Rollings Produce for many years.
Those who shared and are left to celebrate his life include his siblings, Clara Hayes (Boyd), Shelby Gainey and the late Tom Gainey, Kay Anderson and the late Mitchell Anderson, the late Imogene and Kenneth Carpenter, the late Sonny and Barbara Rollings, the late Tish and Slim Rollins, the late Johnny Rollings, and the late Billy Rollings; daughter, Donna Rollings Fulton (Larry) and step-daughter, Billie Sneed (Billy); six grandchildren, Kim P. Douglas (Kevin), Emily Price, Brandon Price (Cristina), Chantel Fulton, Cody Fulton (Emily), and Michelle Sullivan; nine great-grandchildren, Kayden Douglas, Kara Douglas, Carter Price, Brynlee Johnson, Lucas Isom, Blake Isom, Lydia Fulton, the late Nora Fulton, and Miles Sullivan (Casey);
He also leaves behind a special niece, Cindy Fender, special nephew, Mitch Anderson, and special great-nephew, Curt Chapman; also many other nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be held at 6:00 PM on Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at First Baptist Church of Pageland with Dr. Roger Wall and Dr. Joel Dale officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Military Honors.
The family will receive friends from 4:30 PM to 6:00 PM on Tuesday, July 3, 2018 in the Sanctuary of First Baptist Church of Pageland, 203 West Pigg Street, Pageland, South Carolina 29728.
