Obituary

Janice Nan Ivy Hagler, 82, of Pageland, SC passed away peacefully on January 13, 2025 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on May 6, 1942 in Lometa, Texas. She was the cherished daughter of the late James Bryant Ivy and Leta Mae Slaton Ivy. Janice's life was a testament to the love and devotion she had for her family, her community, and her faith.

In addition to her parents, Janice was predeceased by her daughter, Sandy Hagler Baucom, her brother, Al Ivy, and her sister, Bobbie Toole. Her memory will be cherished and kept alive by her husband, Hugh Benton Hagler of 64 and a half years of Pageland, SC; her sons, Allen Hagler and his fiancée Tammy Hall of Pageland, SC, and Michael Hagler and his wife Carrie of Port Charlotte, FL; her daughters, LaFonda Hagler of Wadesboro, NC and Lynn Collins and her husband Mark of Charleston, SC; her brothers, James "Sonny" B. Ivy, Jr. and his wife Juanita of Panama City, FL and Calvin Ivy of Titusville, FL; her four grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren, who will all miss her dearly.

Janice's life was marked by her many passions and interests. She was an avid sports fan, always ready to cheer on her favorite teams with enthusiasm and spirit. Her love for Bingo and bowling brought her much joy and provided countless hours of fellowship with friends and family. Janice was also known for her love of travel, exploring new places with a sense of adventure and curiosity. An animal lover at heart, she found companionship and comfort in the presence of her beloved pets.

Above all, Janice was a woman of great faith. She and Hugh were deeply involved in mission outreach, working tirelessly to spread love and aid to those in need. Her faith was the cornerstone of her life, guiding her actions and inspiring those around her.

Those who knew Janice will remember her for her loving nature and her thoughtful ways. She was the embodiment of a faith-filled life, always ready with a kind word, a supportive gesture, or a good cup of coffee. Her legacy is one of unwavering love, steadfast faith, and the countless lives she touched with her generosity and spirit.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 16, 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Baumgartner Funeral Home.

There will be a Celebration of Life Funeral Service on Friday, January 17, 2025 at 11:00 AM at First Baptist Church of Pageland with Dr. Joel Dale officiating. The burial will follow in the church cemetery.
