Obituary

Jerry Wayne Plyler, 72, of Pageland, SC passed away peacefully on March 13, 2025 while surrounded by his family at his home. He was born on August 22, 1952 in Bryan, Texas to the late George William Plyler and Mildred Pigge Plyler. He is also predeceased by his daughter, Sherry Denise Plyler

Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Wanda Plyler of Pageland, SC; his daughters, Andrea Atwell (Ricky) of Monroe, NC and Danita Hinson of Matthews, NC; his brothers, Eric Plyler (Veronica) and Michael Lynn Plyler both of Pageland, SC. His legacy continues through his grandchildren, Kara Jordan (Alan), Alexia Collins (Curtis), Brooke Atwell, Kaitlyn Hinson, Makayla Medlin, and Cooper Atwell, as well as his great-grandchild, Laine Jordan. He also leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews, including Jason Plyler, Heather Godwin, Jerica Usher, Adam Plyler, Jantzen Plyler, and Jodi Pate.

Before retiring, Jerry was the proud owner of Plyler Grill, where he served his community with a smile and a hearty meal. He also lent his hand at his family's store, always ready to help wherever he was needed. His work ethic and dedication to his business were only matched by his commitment to his country, as he was a proud veteran of the United States Army.

Jerry's interests were a reflection of his love for life and those around him. He found joy in working in the yard, a pastime that brought him peace and satisfaction. Above all, Jerry cherished the time spent with his family, creating memories that they will hold close forever. His faith was a cornerstone of his life, and he loved his Lord Jesus Christ with unwavering devotion.

The family will receive friends on Monday, March 17, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Rose of the Nazarene Church, Pageland, SC.

There will be a Celebration of Life Funeral Service on Monday, March 17, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Rose of the Nazarene Church, Pageland, SC with Pastor Scott Gibson and Mr. Tony Funderburk officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park of Pageland.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Rose of the Nazarene Church, PO Box 275, Pageland, SC 29728 or Gentiva Hospice, 205 East Main St., Chesterfield, SC 29709.
