Mr. John William "Bill" Ford, 86, of Ruby, SC passed away on Wednesday, August 25, 2021 in Monroe, NC. John William Ford was born on July 30, 1935 in Osaka, Virginia to the late John Henry Ford and Sara Meade Ford. John Ford attended Ruby Baptist Church. He loved to watch TV, especially Westerns and Science and History programs. His favorite character was John Wayne. John was a machinist and liked to work on stone work, especially jewelry. He served our country in both the US Air Force and US Coast Guard. He is predeceased by his sister, Toby Gibson and step daughter, Gail Moore. John William Ford is survived by his wife of 34 years, Georgia Lambert Ford of Ruby, SC; sons, Billy Ford (Dena) of Navarre, FL, Bobby Ford of Charleston, SC; step-sons, Donnie Moore (Pam) of Myrtle Beach, SC, Rodney Moore (Denise) of Rock Hill, SC and Gary Moore (Diane) of Waxhaw, NC; daughter, Melissa Ford of Kentucky; step-daughter, Rhonda Smith of Indian Land, SC; four grandchildren; eleven step-grandchildren and nine step-great grandchildren. Visitation will be on Tuesday, August 31, 2021 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Baumgartner Funeral Home, 708 W. McGregor Street, Pageland, SC 29728. There will be a Celebration of Life Graveside Service that will be held at 2:30 PM on Tuesday, August 31, 2021 at Evergreen Cemetery, 4426 Central Avenue, Charlotte, NC 28205 with Pastor Ronald Thurman officiating and Military Honors. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children Research, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Baumgartner Funeral Home of Pageland, South Carolina (www.baumgartnerfh.com) is assisting the Ford family.
