Mr. John Robert Mangum, 85, formerly of Pageland, South Carolina went to be with the Lord Friday October 31, 2025. Mr. Mangum was born October 9, 1940 in Pageland, South Carolina to the late John Belton Mangum and Azilee Sullivan Mangum.

John is survived by the children he shared with former wife, Ann Rivers Smith, daughter, Melissa Anne Mangum of Holden Beach, NC; sons, John Kelly Mangum and partner, Tami Book of Garden City, SC and Michael Chad Mangum and wife, Kelly Sue of Greenville, SC; sister, Betty Sue Haithcock of Charlotte, NC; grandsons, Joshua Robert Mangum of Conway, SC and John Lake Mangum of Greenville, SC and many cousins.

Those preceding him in death were his parents; grandson, David Adam Mangum and brother-in-law, Charles David Haithcoock.

John graduated from Pageland High School where he excelled in the basketball and baseball sports programs. He attended Wingate College and was a member of the baseball team. He proudly served his country in the US Army National Guard.

After working with Sam Graves Meat Company in Pageland, SC, he accepted a position with Carolina Pride Foods in Greenwood, SC. He excelled in sales due to his ability to establish great working relationships and ability to influence others. After 30 years he retired to Lake Wylie, SC. He enjoyed golf, traveling to the beach and being with family and friends. The most important aspect of his life he was a beloved son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and friend.

The family is so thankful to the staff of Sunrise on Providence and to Hospice in Charlotte, NC, for their loving and specialized care of John.
