Mr. John Richard Usher, 65, of Pageland, South Carolina passed away on January 15, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. John was born in Lancaster, South Carolina on August 26, 1952 to the late Alvin M. Usher and Doris Hazeline McKeown Usher. John loved football whether it was attending games or just simply watching it on TV. He was an avid University of South Carolina fan where he played football for the University back in the day. He was definitely a die-hard Gamecock. John was also a proud Shriner, as well as, a Mason. In his free time, he enjoyed traveling to visit all his friends. Those left to celebrate and remember his life include his loving son, John "Hart" Richard Usher Jr. of Charleston, South Carolina; daughters, Kathryn "Katie" Usher of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and Meredith "Lacey" Usher of Charleston, South Carolina; brothers, Alvin "Al" Usher Jr. (Robbin) of Pageland, South Carolina, Lee Eric Usher (Kathy) of Pageland, South Carolina, and David Brian Usher (Tammy) of Jefferson, South Carolina. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 PM on Thursday, January 18, 2018 at First Baptist Church of Pageland with Dr. Joel Dale officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM on Thursday, January 18, 2018 in the Fellowship Hall of First Baptist Church of Pageland. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Central High School, c/o Football Program, 200 Zion Church Road, Pageland, South Carolina 29728.
