Mr. Johnny Reecie Hunter, 80, of Pageland, SC passed away on Saturday, December 11, 2021 in Monroe, NC. Mr. Hunter was born on June 7, 1941 in Pageland, SC to the late William Spofford Hunter and Susie Blanche Horton Hunter. Mr. Hunter is predeceased by his siblings, Ruby Hunter Leaird, Grady Hunter, Lewis Hunter, Margie Hunter Gordon, Bill "Billy" Hunter, Kenneth Hunter and Dale Hunter. Mr. Hunter retired from Square D. He was a member of Union Hill Baptist Church in Pageland, SC. Reecie enjoyed watching Drag Racing and Westerns on TV. Because of his love for cars, he liked to tinker with all types of automobiles and was a Dale Earnhardt fan. Mr. Hunter is survived by his wife of 54 years, Marsha "Mart" Hunter of Pageland, SC; sisters, Sarah Price of Kershaw, SC and Peggy Williams of Pageland, SC; sister in law, Lottie Hunter of Jefferson, SC; daughter of the heart, Dana Jordan Crosby of Charlotte, NC; grandson of the heart, Landon Trenkamp of Myrtle Beach, SC; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews and special friends, Donnie Melton, Lloyd Williams, and Brady Locklear. Due to COVID 19, we ask that everyone that attends the graveside to please wear a mask and keep in mind social distancing rules. A Celebration of Life Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, December 15, 2021 at Beulah Presbyterian Church Cemetery with Pastor Hunter Roddey officiating. Burial will follow at Beulah Presbyterian Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Beulah Presbyterian Church, 8305 Landsford Road, Monroe, NC 28112.
