Mr. Joseph S. Thomas, of Sarasota, FL - formerly of Jefferson, SC, 96, went to be with the Lord on April 11, 2013. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2013 at 1:00 PM at Jefferson Presbyterian Church with Inurnment to follow in the Jefferson Town Cemetery. He was born in Jefferson, South Carolina on July 8, 1916 to the late Dr. Joseph E. and Margaret Proudfoot Thomas. Mr. Thomas was predeceased by his wife Sadie D. Thomas and sisters, Lucille Wamsley and Elaine Gulledge. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII and was a past Post Master in Jefferson, SC. Survivors include his son, Jodie Thomas of Sarasota, FL; daughter, Vicki Thomas of Sarasota, FL; and grandson, Brad Thomas (P.J.) of Valley, AL.
