Judy Carolyn
Dickerson
May 13, 1944 — Jun 5, 2026
Judy Dickerson, 82, of Pageland, SC, passed away on June 5, 2026, in Pageland, South Carolina, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on May 13, 1944, in Matthews, North Carolina, she lived a life marked by kindness, devotion, and steady love for the people around her. She was remembered as thoughtful, loving, and kind, and those qualities were reflected in the way she treated her family, friends, and everyone fortunate enough to know her.
Judy worked for many years as a restaurant waitress. She was also active in Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church in Pageland, South Carolina, when she was younger, and her faith remained an important part of who she was.
She was an avid traveler who especially loved the mountains, and the Cherokee Mountains held a special place in her heart. Judy enjoyed traveling with her sisters and treasured the memories made along the way. She also loved shopping, planting flowers, collecting Native American items, and spending time outdoors. She was an avid NASCAR fan, especially of Joey Logano, and she also loved football, cheering faithfully for the Chicago Bears and the Carolina Panthers. Above all, she loved spending time with her family, cooking for her children and grandchildren, and sharing her sense of humor with those around her.
Judy was a devoted caretaker for her younger siblings. Her home and her kitchen were places of warmth, where family gathered and where she expressed her love through the meals she prepared and the time she gave so freely. She was preceded in death by her life partner, Don Wilson Horne, and by her siblings Joe Killough, Geneva Gresham, Peggy Poole, Linda Prisley, Larry Killough, and Jim Killough.
She is survived by her children, Barry Horne and his companion, Kim Wertz of Pageland, South Carolina, Kenneth Crawford Jr. and his wife, Glenda Canada of Elgin, Texas, Keith Crawford and his companion, Robin Isle of Pageland, South Carolina, Tina Rose of Pageland, South Carolina, and Butch Waugh and his wife, Amy of Murfreesboro, Tennessee. She is also survived by her stepchildren, Casey Horne and his wife, Trisha of Lake Wylie, South Carolina, and Jansen Horne of Stallings, North Carolina; her brother, Ed Killough and his wife, Diane of Concord, North Carolina; her sisters, Carrie Dennis of Jefferson, South Carolina, and Mary Strong and her husband, Nick of Lancaster, South Carolina; her grandchildren, Amanda Cuthbertson, Garrett Horne and his companion, Stacy Chavis, Zachery Horne and his wife, Ashlie, Ashley Guinn and her husband, Tyler, Casey Gonzalez and her husband, Ted, Samantha Crawford, Hannah Crawford, Robert Watley and his wife, Kayla, Tegan Warren and her husband, Tate, Keeley Waugh, Ava Horne, and Zane Horne; and sixteen great-grandchildren.
