Obituary

Judy Elaine Leaird Flowers, 80, of Charlotte, NC passed away on June 5, 2025 in Charlotte, North Carolina. She was born on June 18, 1944 in Pageland, South Carolina to the late William Thomas Leaird and Stella Cato Leaird. Judy lived a full and vibrant life, characterized by her kindness, generosity, and thoughtfulness.

Judy spent her professional years as a senior accountant with Industrial Valve and Gauge. An avid sports fan, Judy's enthusiasm for the Carolina Panthers was infectious, and she could often be found cheering them on with the same vigor she brought to every aspect of her life. Her support for NC State was unwavering, and she took great pride in being part of the community that rallied behind them. Judy's giving spirit extended beyond her immediate circle, as she was a dedicated financial supporter of St. Jude's.

Judy's love for her home was evident to all who visited. She took immense pleasure in tending to her yard, creating a welcoming oasis for family, friends, and the many fur babies she adored. Known as the "cat lady" in the Coulwood community, Judy's compassion for her cats was just one of the many ways she expressed her generous nature.

Her house was a reflection of her personality-warm, inviting, and full of life. Judy enjoyed staying informed and engaged with the world around her, often watching CNN and engaging in political discussions. Her love for politics was matched only by her willingness to listen and learn from others.

Judy's life was marked by her propensity to put others before herself. She was the embodiment of kindness, always thinking of how she could make a difference in someone else's day. Her generosity knew no bounds, and she will be remembered for the countless ways she enriched the lives of those around her.

She is survived by her loving brothers, Jack Leaird of Pageland, SC, Ferris Randal Leaird (Barbara) of Rutherfordton, NC and Robert "Mickey" Leaird of Pageland, SC. Judy's memory will also be cherished by her numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and a great-great niece. Judy was predeceased by her beloved husband, William Andrew Flowers; her son, Brian David Flowers; and her brother, William Larry Leaird.

The family would like to express their gratitude to her neighbors, Mike and Wanda Adkisson.
