Julia C. Aldridge, 82, of Pageland, SC, died peacefully on Thursday, July 20, 2023 in Lancaster, SC. She was born on August 30, 1940 in Cabarrus County, NC to the Rev. Brady Lee Connell and Verla Price Connell. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Robert Neal Connell and sister, Claudia C. Clontz of Monroe, NC. Julia is survived by her husband, Lance C. Aldridge of Pageland, SC; daughter, Elaine Johnson and husband, Richie of Clayton, NC; son, Scott Courtney and wife, Lisa of Forest City, NC; son, Michael Courtney of Pageland, SC; step-children, Tracy Aldridge and wife, Debra of Maiden, NC, Clint Aldridge and wife, Tina of Huntersville, NC; grandchildren, Charlotte Clark and Allison Johnson both of Clayton, NC; Krysta Bragg and Kalli Huggins both of Pageland, SC, Casey and Colton Courtney both of Boone, NC and Caleb Courtney (Kelly) of Wilmington, NC; step-grandchildren, Jada and Landon Aldridge both of Maiden, NC; Dalton, Raven and Kegan Aldridge of Huntersville, NC; great-grandchildren, Bailey and Hannah Bragg, Cameron, Miley and Rorie Huggins all of Pageland, SC, Lane Beasley of Clayton, NC, Harper Alise Clark of Elizabethtown, NC and Maverick of Statesville, NC. Julia was a former Cub Scout Leader; Kindergarten Assistant at Benton Heights Elementary School, Monroe, NC; Legal Assistant to W. Lee Youngblood, Attorney/Assistant Solicitor for Chesterfield, Marlboro and Dillon Counties, of Pageland, SC; retiree of Jefferson-Pilot Communications (WBTV/WBT) and Jefferson-Pilot Sports of Charlotte, NC. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Pageland and SECR with a strong belief in Christ. Julia's mantra was to treat others as fallible human beings, who deserve to be treated as persons of dignity and worth. For those who knew her well, Julia understood the imperfection of mankind and believed in putting others first. She possessed a deep love of Christ, family, troubled youth, and crisis intervention for those in need. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM Saturday, August 12, 2023 at First Baptist Church of Pageland in the Fellowship Hall. There will be a Celebration of Life Memorial Service at 2:00 PM on Saturday August 12, 2023 at First Baptist Church of Pageland with Dr. Joel Dale and Dr. Scott Courtney officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Baptist Church of Pageland, PO Box 126, Pageland, SC 29728 or the Children's Home Society of North Carolina, Attn: Accounting, PO Box 14608, Charlotte, NC 27415.
