Katherine Griffin Austin, passed away peacefully on September 14, 2024, at the age of 70 in Pageland, South Carolina. Born on September 25, 1953, in Charlotte, North Carolina, she was the cherished daughter of the late William Doyle Roach and Emma Price Roach.

Katherine's life was a testament to her faith-filled spirit and her ability to touch the lives of those around her with her kindness. She was a devoted wife to her loving husband of 34 years, Thomas Austin, Jr. of Pageland, SC, with whom she shared countless cherished moments. Her legacy continues through her sons, Robert Griffin (April Arant) and Edward Griffin (Sharon), both of Pageland, SC, who will forever hold her in their hearts.

She was a beloved sister, leaving behind fond memories with Donnie Roach (Phyllis) of Cornelius, NC, and Sandra Thomas of Pageland, SC. She was an adored grandmother to Austin Griffin, Hayden Griffin, Dawson Griffin, Mason Arant, and Chloe McClain. Her guidance and love will remain a guiding light in their lives. Katherine was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Pamela Emanuel, but the bond they shared continues to live on through the stories and memories cherished by the family.

An avid outdoorswoman, Katherine's passion for nature was evident in her love for fishing, training and showing dogs, and training and riding horses. Her enthusiasm for these activities was infectious, and she often shared her knowledge and joy with others. Katherine's involvement with the Sandhills Cowboy Church was a reflection of her deep faith and commitment to her community.

The family will be holding a Memorial Service at 1:00 PM on Sunday, September 29, 2024 at Sandhills Cowboy Church.
