Katherine Agnes Douglass Thaxton, 98, of Pageland, SC passed away Friday, April 9, 2021 in Camden, SC. Mrs. Thaxton was born on April 17, 1922 in Jefferson, SC to the late Daniel Henry Douglass, Sr. and Agnes Goza Douglass. She was loved by her family and many friends in so many ways. She was a longtime member of Pageland Presbyterian Church and Jefferson Presbyterian Church. Katherine served the church in many capacities over the years. She was a Christian and her life was lived as a celebration in gratitude to her God. Katherine was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Calvin L. Thaxton, Sr. and her son, James D. Thaxton. She is survived by her son, Cal Thaxton and wife, Alice; grandson, Trey Thaxton and granddaughter, Alice Curtin Thaxton; son, William (Bill) Thaxton and wife, Janice; granddaughter, Jeslyn Thaxton McFadden and husband Mike and Molly Thaxton Davis and husband, Joseph; great grandchildren, Milyn McFadden, Hadley Davis, and Mabel Davis; daughter-in-law, Karen Thaxton; granddaughter, Emily Thaxton Otting and husband Josh; granddaughter, Katherine Thaxton Stogner; great grandchildren, Preston Otting, Claire Otting, Thaxton Stogner and Sadie Stogner. Due to COVID 19, the family asks that everyone that attends the service to please wear a mask and keep in mind social distancing rules. Anyone can come by Baumgartner Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 13, 2021 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM to sign the register book and pay their respects. A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be Private. A Celebration of Life Graveside Service will be on Wednesday, April 14, 2021 at 3:00 PM at Jefferson Town Cemetery with Rev. Dick Tubbs and Rev. David Bessinger officiating.
