Lawson Millard Wade Huntley, 77 of Pageland, SC passed away peacefully on Friday, October 17, 2025 at the Hospice House in Monroe, NC.

Lawson was born on July 26, 1948 in Sewickley, PA to Wilbert and Carrie Huntley. He grew up in Moon Township, PA where he enjoyed snow skiing, kayaking, racing cars and motorcycles. Lawson attended Rose Hulman Institute of Technology in Terra Haute, IN. While in college, he had a fiberglass business of designing and building canoes and fiberglass fenders for corvettes and also worked at P & G research lab. After moving to Monroe, NC, he founded Bearskin Electroplating Company. Some of his work involved top secret projects for the defense department. After retirement he began designing and building electric vehicles before they were mass produced, selling vehicles to the state of SC and NC.

Lawson fought a lifelong battle with leukemia, enduring 20 years of blood transfusions, and two bone marrow transplants. His faith never wavered through it all. A scripture he held dearly was Jeremiah 29:11. He loved the Lord with all his heart, and cherished his family and friends.

He was predeceased by his parents and brother, Will Huntley, Jr. Lawson is survived by his wife Debbie Agerton Huntley and two nieces, Anna and Karen Huntley.

A special debt of gratitude to Dr. Ted Suggs for his devoted friendship and care, along with Tony Sciame, who faithfully stood by him encouraging him daily. A special thank you to our dear friend and angel Luella Kiker, our rock through it all. We would like to express our appreciation and gratitude to the many friends and family who have lifted Lawson up in prayers through the years.

A Celebration of Life Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday October 21, 2025 at 12:00 P.M. at Greenlawn Memorial Park of Pageland Mausoleum with Dr. Joel Dale officiating.

Friends may pay their respects after the service or other times at the family home, 582 Agerton Rd, Pageland, SC 29728 or sign the register book at Baumgartner Funeral Home on Monday October 20, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM
