Mrs. Margaret Evelyn Hendrix Lewis, 97, of Pageland, SC passed away on Wednesday, October 7, 2020 in Cheraw, SC. Mrs. Evelyn Hendrix Lewis was born on May 18, 1923 in Pageland, SC to the late Palmer Armfield Hendrix and Ethel Evans Hendrix. She is predeceased by her husband, Jesse Arthur Lewis; brothers, Bobbie Hendrix, Tommy Hendrix and Harry "Fuzz" Hendrix; sisters, Betty Ingram, Peggy Smith and Billie Jean Usher and grandson, Donnie McGee. Mrs. Lewis was a member of Providence Baptist Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family. She enjoyed working in her yard and planting flowers. Mrs. Lewis liked to listen to gospel music. Mrs. Lewis is survived by her daughter, Diane L. McGee of Pageland, SC; brothers, Rick Hendrix (Bonnie) of Pageland, SC and Anthony Hendrix (Paulette) of Kershaw, SC; sister, Lois Brewer of Spartanburg, SC; grandson, David McGee (Jennifer) of Pageland, SC and great grandchildren, Angel Bang (Brian) and Keith McGee both of Pageland, SC and Jesse McGee (Rachel) of Cheraw, SC. There will be a Celebration of Life Funeral Service at 3:00 PM on Friday, October 9, 2020 at Providence Baptist Church in Pageland, SC with Pastor Roger Wall officiating. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. The family will greet friends on Friday, October 9, 2020 from 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM at Providence Baptist Church. Due to the government-mandated, COVID-19 restrictions, we ask that you practice social distancing at all times. The family would like for all attending the service to please wear a face covering.
