Margaret Anita Russ, a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, sister daughter and friend, passed at home on August 28, 2023. She was born on June 7, 1975, in Cheraw, South Carolina, to Charles "Catfish" Deason and Anita Robertson Deason. She was preceded in death by her son, Jacob Aaron Russ; maternal grandparents, Ruth Robertson and Hazel Robertson; paternal grandparents, Ethel Deason and Harvey Deason and in-laws, Henderson Russ Sr. and Florence Russ. Mrs. Russ lived a life full of love, compassion, and generosity.
Margaret, known for her vivacious spirit and zest for life, was the heart and soul of her family. She was a devoted wife to her loving husband of thirty years, William Thomas Russ Sr., and a doting mother to their two children, William Thomas Russ Jr. and Charlie Savannah Kay Russ. Her love for her family knew no bounds and she cherished every moment spent with them. She was a proud grandmother to Gatlin Aaron Thomas Russ, whose tales of achievement she would share with great pride.
Margaret was also a beloved sister to Carl Deason (Nikole), Crystal Smith (Kenny), and Lisa Deason (Todd), and a favorite aunt to numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Her family was the center of her life and she thrived on the joy and happiness they brought to her every day. An avid talker, Margaret had a knack for making people feel comfortable and at ease. Her favorite color was purple. She was an accomplished event planner, known for her creativity and attention to detail. Music was a significant part of Margaret's life, with the Backstreet Boys and New Kids being her favorites. Her love for the beach and animals, especially dolphins and tigers was well-known among her friends and family.
Margaret was a dedicated family person and an enthusiastic shopper. She looked forward to Black Friday shopping every year, taking great joy in buying a new Christmas tree for the family home. She was a devoted caregiver and was always ready to help anyone in need. Her generous spirit and thoughtful nature made her a cherished member of her community.
A die-hard Clemson fan, Margaret loved to cheer on her favorite team. She was a fantastic cook, with her crock pot dishes being a hit at family get-togethers. She loved celebrating and hosting family events, and her home was always filled with laughter and joy.
Margaret was a woman of many admirable qualities - loving, generous, and thoughtful. She had a heart full of kindness and a spirit full of life. Her radiant smile and infectious laughter will be missed by all who knew her, but her memory will live on in the hearts of her loved ones. Margaret Anita Russ touched the lives of many with her kindness and generosity. Her passing leaves a void that can never be filled, but her spirit will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered
The family will receive friends from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Sunday, September 3, 2023 at Baumgartner Funeral Home. There will be a Celebration of Life Funeral Service at 1:00 PM on Monday, September 4, 2023 at Baumgartner Funeral Home with Pastor Jeremy Johnson, Pastor, Tommy Pressler and Pastor Steven Sullivan officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park of Pageland.
